Song titled “Taraf” is a moving story about wandering, longing and inner torment, which combines the simplicity of the message with the deep emotional charge. The song has the atmosphere of a journey – in both, a physical and spiritual sense.
Text was written by Teresa Mirga, although seemingly uncomplicated, explores universal questions about what drives a person to wander and what makes one want to go home.
“Where will I go? Where will I go? Which way will I go home.”
These words, in their simplicity, resonate with anyone who has ever tried to find their place in the world. The greatest strength of Teresa’s work is in the split between the fascination with the unknown and the longing for stability.
“Taraf” captivates not only with its universality and emotional depth in the lyrics, but also with its unique musical performance. Teresa Mirga’s pure voice, combined with the melancholic melody of the Romanian Roma, played by the members of the Teresa Mirga i Kałe Bała band, takes us to a completely different world. There is something extremely authentic about it, which makes the song reach the hearts of listeners, regardless of their background or experience.
The whole is complemented by an atmospheric music video, created by Delfin Łakatosz, Kinga Żak and Noemi Łakatosz which visually reflects the spirit of the journey and the emotions contained in the song.
“Taraf” is a unique song that not only delights, but also inspires reflection on your own journeys – both in the world and into yourself.
